Bottle picked up from Sulzberger Bierhaus Pfaffenhofen an der ilm and consumed at home Sunday 26th January 2025 listening to Fabio & Grooverider from last night on playback 6Music, we're cooking Moussaka and have made Lemon Curd Ice Cream Balls which we plan to coat in chocolate. Pours warm gold almost clear there is a little bit of haze. Nice drinking, soft mouthfeel, nice bite, a little rustic bittersweet edge. Good.

500 ml swing-top bottle, fresh from the brewery, with only a small label on the bottle neck. Pours cloudy orange with a big fluffy head. Bread, dough, hay, floral hops, citrus. Mild dry bitterness, light yeasty sweetness. Medium bodied, creamy texture, lively carbonated, dry finish. Good, however this should be rather classified as Kellerbier!

(swing top bottle, renewed edition 2016) Clear, deep golden colour with a big and loose foamy white head. Doughy and subtle fruity malty aroma with notes of apples, caramel, barnyard and a tinge of spicy hops in the background. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a crisp carbonation. Mildly bready malt character with shades of caramel and balanced spicy hoppy accents; sweet-bitter and lasting finish with a cara-malty and slightly bready tail. A very well-crafted brew. 10.V.16

Rating from the archive.
→ Leckeres Bier. Schön süffig & angenehm malzig-herb. 12/12/12/13

Altmodische Bügelverschlußflasche( Vielen, vielen Dank an Stefan vom Bodensee!): Deep golden, unclear, floaties visible, small stable white head, pale-malty to bisquity nose with the unique "house-character", some woody hops detectable; moderate bitter-sweet flavor, soft but quite slim; lingering dryish woody-hoppy finish with a nice pale-malty counterparf. Another gem, made by Sister Doris…

Sehr getreidiger Antrunk mit starken Hefeelementen. Die Hefigkeit wird stärker und wirkt schon penetrant, zudem stößt die Säuerlichkeit unpassend auf. Disharmonisch, sie Aromen wirken penetrant. Muffigder Abgang. 11/6/6/5//6
