Halia is a farmhouse ale aged in wine barrels with whole peaches, resulting in bright, effervescent fruit notes in a soft, hazy body that finishes slightly tart and sweet with the pleasant character of ripe, juicy peaches. Literally meaning “remembrance of a loved one” in Hawaiian, Halia was brewed in memory of the dear friend of one of our brewers who loved peaches.

This is just lovely. Light, plenty of peach, little bit tart and pretty refreshing. The peach flavour is proper peach, nothing synthetic or candy like. The beer is quite dusty, in a woody barnyard way. Hint of funk, bit of white wine. Great balance.

12 oz bottle, thanks CJ. 2017 Release. Aroma is bretty, peach, white wine, wood, vanilla. Pours hazy golden with little flecks of sediment floating around and no head. Taste is highly sour (8/10), savory, with flavors like the aroma. The peach comes through more in flavor than in the nose. This is really fucking tasty, I'm sad to say. Damn you, Budweiser-owned mfs. At least I didn't pay for it.

Hazy straw blond colour with no head. Aroma and flavour have a lot of sharp peach. Dry and tart. Nice mix of funk, fruit and tartness.

Good. Golden and effervescent. Funky, lightly tart, very cheesy, like a funky bleu cheese, a bit of feet. Semi-dry, faintly hopped. Almost reminiscent of Orval but not quite in the same ballpark.

Bottle. Wine Rack, Leeds. Dark straw colour. Light haze. Film of white. Nose has cut peach. Peach stone. Soft, brett like funk. Some sour milk. Taste is a little sweet and peachy, with a milky sourness. Medium body. Foamy carbonation. A tad oily maybe. Light sourness to finish. Very drinkable. Very decent, overall.
