Halia is a farmhouse ale aged in wine barrels with whole peaches, resulting in bright, effervescent fruit notes in a soft, hazy body that finishes slightly tart and sweet with the pleasant character of ripe, juicy peaches. Literally meaning “remembrance of a loved one” in Hawaiian, Halia was brewed in memory of the dear friend of one of our brewers who loved peaches.

2017 bottle, Dan's. Gold. White head fizzes away in seconds. 3- Aroma of old oranges, peaches, boot polish, light bracken. Medium bodied, quite carbonated. Not slippery. A nice balance of sweet fruit, funk, acid and zingy oak. I like it but after about 150ml am wondering whether it has anything more to say - which maybe I wouldn't had it been 6ish%. Does drink well with washed rind cheese.

On draught at Gaslight Social Club.

Pours a brilliantly clear light gold, small and quickly disappearing head of foam, no lacing.

Strong peachy smell but it gives it up for the intense aromas of Brett. Can't say that it smells sour.

The taste continues with the Brett where the smell left off. Light sour notes of umm peaches, tough to positively identify the fruit as such, whatever, it's pitted but not dark fruit.

Fairly light bodied with adequate carbonation.

Very good for 1 glass. ;)

This crowler was $20 at JRs. They said it was a saison so, now that I see its a sour, really looking forward to it. Looks like a pale lager & smells like a saison in my steeler jack lambert glass number 58. You can smell it from clear across the table. First taste is a very good tart impressions, and yes a little saison yeast in the background.. Seems to have a mildly warming sensation right after each swig. Very good co2, quite easy to drink for an 8 percenter. Yes, easy but a little bit of a processed feel begins to creep in thru the middle. I know it says peaches but, I really have to search for that effect, maybe I'm mixing it up with the sour & tartness. In the end I thinks its quite enjoyable and provides a good kick as well. Lacto? Who knows? Its ab-bev! You know, I think I do get a little bit of peach in the finish.

On Tap Clear golden orange. Quick thin fizzy head. Peach and sweet slick pale malts. A sweet almost buttery feel. Very slight tartness. Strange.

Sampled on draft at Tapped this beer poured a dark amber color with a trace soapy white head that faded and left no lacing. The aroma was sour, bretty and musty with sweetish and tangy malt and bubblegum. The aroma was sour with vinegar, brett, mustiness, bubblegum and faint tangy lemon. Long musty and bretty finish. Light body. Meh.
