Bloesem Blond is een blond bier met vlierbloesem (elderflower). De vlierbloesem zorgt voor een bloemig aroma en geeft een frisse afdronk. Het perfecte bier om de bloemetjes mee buiten te zetten.

Hops: Styrian Goldings, Cascade

Previously brewed at Lindeboom.

75cl bottle from drankdozijn. Hazy amber, white creamy head. Fairly floral nose, roses, cactus fig. Perfumed medium light, light sticky base, too floral, perfumed for my taste, feels more like a mixer than a balanced brew. Edit: in fact chucking a good amount of mint leaves and ice cubes in and pretending it is a ling drink helps

Good amber colour, slightly hazy. 1cm stable head with medium retention. Nice nose, floral, elderberry, caramel. Nice in the mouth too. Good hit of malt and floral toffee, carries over into midrange. Drops off a bit too quickly at the end, leaving a slightly watery but faintly bitter and floral notes. At the very end slight bubblegum taste. Well balanced and interesting: the elderberry is just right.

Dark blond colour with thin lacy head. Obviously floral elements and a certain candy sweetness. Nice mouthfeel. Surprisingly good.

Elderblossom-flavoured blonde by these brewing sisters in Amsterdam, with pink label depicting flowers which are definitely not elderblossom flowers; longneck bottle from an Albert Heijn supermarket. Thick and frothy, cobweb-lacing, regular, firm, pillowy head on an initially clear, warm and deep 'old golden' beer with almost pale amberish tinge and some visible sparkling, turning into a hazy orangey peach with sediment. Perfumey aroma of sweet red apple, even a touch of strawberry, fragrant spring blossoms which I assume is applied by the elderblossom though missing that typical 'cheesy' effect they often have - instead coming closer to the sweet Ghent elderblossom drink called Roomer, damp and dirty kitchen towel annoyingly persisting in the background, some light candyfloss, banana peel, brioche bread dough, overripe pear, hints of clove, sugared chamomile tea, Roosvicée, rosehip, blackcurrant jam, valerian, wet clay. Fruity, sweet onset, but nowhere cloyingly sweet, rather ripe-fruity sweet with impressions of red apple, pear and strawberry, even some melon; medium carbonation, supple and slick mouthfeel. Perfumey and flowery elderblossom sweetness hovers over a slender pale malt sweetish core with light caramelly edges here and there, but the sweet floweriness of it reminds me more of a blossoming Japanese cherry tree than elderblossom; a clay-ish minerality and something reminiscent of dough turned 'off' join in as well. The sweetness is consistent but does not become sugary anywhere - instead it maintains this melony, blossomy, near-honeyish character, in the end making (some) room for a mildly spicy, bit earthy and slightly leafy hop bitter element drying the finish. The blossomy and strawberry-ish sweet perfumes linger retronasally while the back of the mouth is dried and spiced by the hops - a contrast I do not usually appreciate very much, but here it seems to work quite well. Sweet red fruit continues, but it does not become artificial or severely boring. I know I should not say this anymore in this day and age, but this is a very 'feminine' beer, even if it were brewed by men; it is flowery, blossomy, happy and elegantly sweet, though not too sweet. Decent spring beer indeed - but turn up the sweetness only one notch and you can count me out; meanwhile this 'dirty' kitchen towel aroma kept bothering me all the time as well. These lovely ladies could do with a bit more technical perfection as the idea is not bad at all, it just deserves a more 'pure' and focused execution. Not my cup of tea entirely, but enjoyable for what it is - I guess I was expecting worse based on the premise and the somewhat naive pink label...

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an almost clear, deep golden with a smallish, off-white head. Spicy nose, Belgian yeast. Medium body, dry and flowery. Again quite spicy with a faint, hoppy finish. 061222

Bottle, 6.2%. Caramelly, herbal and spicy aroma with teaish notes. Cloudy golden colour. Good stable white head. The flavour of flowery and perfumy with peach notes. Rose petals? Ok malty base. Low to medium bitterness.

Flaska på Stayok i Smsterdam. Smakar som en blommig blond. Lite kvalmig utan fläder alls. Istället honung, nektar och blombotten. Ok

Bottle at BBT 10/2021. I have a slightly worse sense of smell this time. Pretty strong sweetness, clean sugary character, with very low malt flavours, or any kind of hops character, including bitterness. Intensely flowery, elderflower. Simple, not very beery. Eh. I just personally dislike this.
