Jet Black Heart is a 4.7% milk stout, loaded with oatmeal for an extra lush mouth-feel and nitro dispensed on draft; expect decadent cacao, subtle roastiness, and autumnal fruitiness with a dark seductive edge. Inspired by some of the awesome craft nitro stouts we tried in the US we wanted to put our own spin on the style and also introduce nitro beers to BrewDog bars

9.6oz can. Huh. Opens with a loud hiss, pours nitro style. Smooth, creamy, very well done. Medium bodied, fluffy and light on the palate. Steady creamy beige head. Soft/non carbonation. Quite unique compared to most of the beers on the shelf in the US. A pleasant surprise.

Bottle, medium stable bubbly brownish head, aroma of chocolate pralines and coffee liquor, falvor of bitter dark chocolate and mocha with a metalic hint, lightish fruity sweetness, lightmellow bitterness. Very nice and enjoyable.

9.6 ounce nitro can into pint glass, canned on 5/22/2018. Pours crystal clear very dark brown color with a 1 finger dense and creamy light khaki head with amazing retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts the whole glass. Thick soapy lacing clings down the glass. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, cream, toasted oats, nuttiness, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, tobacco, herbal, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, vanilla, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, cream, toasted oats, nuttiness, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, tobacco, herbal, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Mild herbal/spicy hop and roast/char bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, cream, toasted oats, nuttiness, dark/brown bread, light dark fruit/smoke/char, tobacco, herbal, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, vanilla, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with an awesome roasted bitter/sweet balance; and no acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness. Light carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky/velvety, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.7%. Overall this was an outstanding oatmeal milk stout! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, vanilla, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Nicely rich malt complexity with lactose/vanilla; mild earthy hop balance and restrained English yeast fruitiness. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

330 ml bottle. Murky black with foamy stable cappuccino coloured head. Milk, cream, burnt malt, breadcrumbs, citrus, some toffee and some coffee, cassis and other dark berries, some smoke. Bitter, sour and a bit sweet. Watery texture, light bodied, smoky and sour finish, low carbonated.

26 June 2018. Sample at 't Taphuys, Tilburg. Shared with Anke.
Cloudy dark brown, almost black, with a lasting, frothy, beige head; little lacing. Aroma of nail varnish, quickly swept aside by hazelnut paste, cream, coffee liqueur, milk chocolate, brown bread, toasted walnut, faint black pepper. It tastes medium malty sweet, notes of cream & milk chocolate, and light roasted bitter, like espresso & mocha; rough 'nutty' edges and a very light berry-like sourness. Peppery hoppy finish, bit toasty & creamy. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Nice aroma & taste at a staggeringly low 4.7%!

Bottle at PoW, Farnborough. Creamy lacrose and coffee aroma. It is jet black. Creamy beige head. Initially creamy before the medium bitter core comes through. Gains espresso bitterness with some dark berries also making an appearance. Medium bodied. Slick rather than a heavier mouthfeel I'd perhaps expect. Average carbonation. Long finish, slightly astringent. Decent drinkable milk stout.

Bottle @ home shared by TomHendriksen. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized light to medium sized brown colored head. Aroma is burnt malts and vanilla. Taste malts, vanilla, burnt malts, roast, ash, dirt, earthy a bit, somewhat bitter, lightly smoke, a hint of green plants, moderately bitter, malt bitter, some coffee and dusty dark chocolate. Loads of flavors and I didn't name even name all of em probably. Decent to medium body, medium carbonation.
