Many thanks to Erzengel for sharing! A clear dark amber red beer with a mid-sized most good lasting beige head. Aroma of strong reddish malt, mild sweet malt, resionous hops, cinnamon. Taste of sweet caramelish malt, red malt, nuts, resinous hops, toffee, pine, medium long bitter finish.

2013er vintage. Dark molasses in the nose. The beer starts mild and smooth, refreshing with a nice light caramelly back. Smooth mild with not too much sweetness, round caramelly burned bitterness in the aftertaste, deep and refreshing.

From Jan 2007
Poured from 33.8 oz caged and waxed bottle a deep amber with a smallish head of foam that quickly shrank to some swirls on the surface and has almost no lacing.
The smell is quite fruity(citrus) with notes of sweet malt..hmmm...it really has an unusual nose that I haven't experienced before.
The taste has a good malt bite, that is semi sweet, along with some roastiness and as I swish the ale in my mouth, I get some real tartness that reminds me of sour cherries. I'm trying to get the "feel" of this Strong Ale but it's kind of stumping me because I don't think I've ever tasted anything like this before. And the highish abv started warming me from the very first sip so I wouldn't recommend gulping this one down. ;^)
A few more sips in and the tart fruitiness dies down some giving me more of that semi sweet malt, which I find quite tasty, and some alcohol that I don't find so appealing. I think I'll buy a few bottles and let them sit for a while.
Bottom line: This one isn't on their website yet and the attached info card says it's a 2006 Bottle Conditioned Ale so I'm guessing some aging would really work for this brew. As is,
it's strange and interesting enough for me to say...try it if you see it.

750 ml bottle; 2013 vintage. Aroma is caramelly, toasty; offnote of wet dog. Pours slightly hazy mahogany with a quickly diminishing off-white head. Taste is nice, roasty and toasty; it’s sweet with notes of licorice and dark fruit that make it lightly sour. Finishes dry, has a metallic offnote. A bit boozy. Body seems thinner than it should be, oily mouthfeel. Nice enough for what it is. The offnotes aren’t all that distracting and overall it’s decent.

I was hoping for a little more. Slightly above average, clear amber and malty aroma. Taste also is malt driven, some oak barrel, some spice. And it does warm....

Tap at California Brew fest. 2013 release as "Imperial". 20 IBU. Pours dark brown with a creamy beige head. Aroma is light hop with lots of malt. Med + body. Flavor is sweet/light roast malt with a little earthy hop. Balanced; finishes not too sweet. Just excellent.

1 qt. 1.8 oz bottle. Dated Nov. 16, 2007. Hazy, dark amber body with a finger-size, off-white head. The aroma is sweet with caramel, apricot, overripe fruit with notes of grapefruit. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Sweet finish with a nice bite of bitterness. Medium body with a sticky, syrupy texture. Moderate carbonation. This was a better-than-average strong ale — especially if you like the balance between bitter and sweet to be on the sweet side. I do. Enjoyable.

Thanks to The Beer God for this one. Once we got through the wax, this was very close to a barleywine. Copper color with minimal head and floaties! Aroma is bread, cereal, toffee, caramel. Taste is more malty cereal, dates and raisins. Very thick and chewy. I wrote in my notes "effervescence is appropriate," whatever that means. Really good beer. Bravo Idaho!
1L waxed fliptop bottle from jjpm74. Thanks! Pours a dark caramel color with a large head. Caramel, toffee, nuts and hops in the aroma. Taste is nuts, caramel, tea and mild hop notes. Medium-full bodied. Alcohol not noticeable. Soft carbonation.

On Tap at the Old Boise Brew Fest 2007 pours out a amber topped with a tan head. Some malt and sweetness along with a little hop.
