A bottom-fermented strong beer speciality with a powerful hoppy aroma and a characteristic spicy taste.

Surprisingly exactly what I wanted. One of the few Maibocks I've truly enjoyed.

500 ml bottle. Pours clear dark golden with a big fluffy head. Dry citrus, grassy hops, malty caramel notes, vanilla, light booze. Dry hoppy bitterness, malty caramelly sweetness. Full bodied, oily texture, lively to soft carbonated, dry bittersweet boozy finish. Lovely Maibock, really smooth, even dangerous to drink.

Bottle picked up from Appel Getränkemarkt Moosburg and consumed at home. Had this Wednesday 28th April 2021 in evening after a cycle to Haindfling to get milk, listening to Steve Lamaqs Evening Session on 6Music. Pours copper in colour, excellent clarity, white head, looks magnificent. Good Maibock, hitting the right notes from a malt perspective, light hoppiness and bitterness, caramel and toffee overtones. Nice.

Pretty good for the style. Better than most in that the malt is bready and grainy forward. The bitterness is still a bit much for me. D&S Dresden

Not terrible--surprising since it's an Aldi-exclusive brew here in Tennessee--but a bit pedestrian as far as maibocks go, heavy on the caramel sweetness yet with a bland, slightly floral finish. Pumpernickel bread yeastiness pops up, as does an outsized boozy feel, so it's not a particularly enjoyable pint. But, hell, if you're and a party and you're faced with either a can of Feldschlossen Maibock or Miller Lite, it's a no-brainer.

50cl bottle. BB 11/2017. A clear deep golden beer with a huge most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of medium to strong malt, sweet grainy malt, straw. Taste of strong pale malt, straw, mild grainy malt, not too sweet, medium bitterness.

Man I love it when Aldi’s gets in these obscure German beers. Even if they aren’t world classics, they are often beers you never otherwise see in the US. Golden color, no real head production. Nose is sugary, grainy. Flavor very similar, in a funny way almost reminiscent of a malt liquor but far more clean and thus easier to drink. But still at this ABV it is one heavy sweet lager.
