Kingdom is introducing its second product; “Dark Lager”. The beer’s darkness is the result of the use of roasted malts. The taste includes a mild sweetness from caramel.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks mom & dad for this bottle! As Kingdom Dunkel. Brown color. Aroma of malt, caramel, toast, dark bread, vegetables, a bit of metal. Sweet flavor with caramel, toast, dark bread, a bit of vegetables, and a bitterish finish. Light to medium-bodied. Not really good, but quite drinkable.

Bottle shared with deanso. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin, slightly broken light tan head. The aroma is sweet caramel malt, light roasty malt. The flavour is moderate sweet, light bitter with a sweet, light aromatic, aniseed, light mineral palate. Moderate to light bodied with average carbonation. This rather surprised me actually.

Deep dark brown body with a lighter brown glow at the bottom and a half centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of cereal, grain, malt, grapes and way more cereal - super pungent and smells immediately like goya malta when cracked open. Light-bodied; Sharp cereal malt flavour with absolutely no body and a thin sweetness of grapes, cherries and vanilla. Aftertaste shows the fruits, a bit of sweetness and interestingly enough - no malt - just the cereal flavour, but no depth or fullness. Overall, an interesting beer from a place that doesn’t have too many non-lagers, so this is welcome, even if not so great. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Pencil Supermarket in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on 02-April-2012 for 4800Rial or US$1.20 sampled back home on the opposite end of the world in Washington on 24-October-2013.

Bottled. A dark red beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of malt, bread, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, metal, caramel, and bread, leading to a dry metallic finish.
