Aged for 8 weeks in sherry barrique casks.

0,33 L bottle. Pours a clear, pale, straw color, with a fizzy, fleeting head. The aroma is caramel, licorice, vanilla, orange peel, and Cognac. Sweet and sugary, with an odd, herbal, booziness, similar to an Amaro. Medium body, spicy, and a bit hot. Very interesting, and pretty tasty.

Small white head, fast gone over veiled golden orange beer. Sweet nose with raisins, banana, ever so slightly coloured malts - and slight oxydation. Sweet... and again a light oxydation - or lightstruck? Stupid green glass bottle... Faint walnut, giving a light bitterness. Springwater quality. Very slick, faint oily feel; but not really full-bodied. Soft carbonation. Strange, sweet if mellow Bock. Nice to have tried, but no fireworks. Txs to Joren for bringing. Bierwelt.Tirol, Innsbruck

opalescent pale yellow colour, moderate sized off-white head, which disappears quickly; aroma of sour white wine, sour apple, grape, wine cellary and maybe some grainy notes; taste is also sourish-vinous...well, this style and the beer they tried is obviously not appropriate for barique-ing

Süßer, mild hefig herber Beginn. Helles Malz, wenig fruchtig nach Ananas, deutlicher, etwas störender Alkohol. Hellmalziger, zu süßer Abgang. Unrund. 8/10/8/9/11/9

330mL bottle drunk 8/18/18.
Clear, deep golden with some viscosity to it. Off-white head atop steadily recedes to a ring.
Rich, thick, honey-heavy malts are punctuated by both oak and alcohol-like acidity and dryness. Almost takes on a white grape character on the back end, with pepper, pear and other such notes emerging as it warms. Not overdone on the barrel aspect, and in fact, quite light. Alcohol is noted but doesn't overwhelm, either. Rich grains linger on the finish.
In the mouth it's soft, malty and rich with tons of honey, vanilla, kilned grain and light cereal. Pepper, herbs, light wood and bits of acidity from yeast and oak add some balance. Carbonation is very low, a touch loose at times. Never cloying or boozy, yet also needs a bit more complexity. Honey-vanilla richness begins to dominate by the end of the glass. The grape-like acidity character is very welcome, however, and does help balance.
