Cask at the Broomfield Tavern, Coventry on 31st October 2025. Thick sepia black with shallow, loose tan foam and spot lacing. Rich dark chocolate roast malt aroma. Chocolate, coffee and smokiness in-mouth, and a long roasty finish with continued smoke spices. Smooth mouthfeel and a medium body.

Sights & Swills Summer Holiday Beer#6. WOOL. Found at the Black Bear in the village area of the small Dorset town of Wool, which is not really a beer destination but has a lovely setting and several cask ales to choose from. Stronger tasting than its roasted malt but decent enough. Almost black in colour.

Gravity poured pint in The Etsome Arms, Somerton on Sunday 12th November 2023. Black bodied, thin wispy beige head. Coffee esters and flavours rule the roost with this semi-sweet Stout, vanilla notes pop up mid-sip; decent.

Half-pint, cask ale at Cellar Door. Shared with Finn. Covering beige head, fair lacing, very dark in the glass with a deep ruby tint. Aroma of grainy chocolate. Mid-sweet chocolate flavours with a backdrop of coffee. Roasted ending. Nice stout (Newport 03.10.2018).

Fra cask på Cellar Door, Newport. Delt med Rune. Svart. Høyt filmskum. Aroma av røstet malt. Smaken litt tynn. Røstet malt. Litt sjokolade. Tørr avslutning.

Lots of oatmeal. Soy sauce. Treacle. Leather. Prunes. Vanilla. Soft malts. Relatively well made. Top marks on the lacing. Nice to crush classic English porter
