Backlog October 2009. Orange body under a huge, lively, foamy head and lots of floaters. Nice aroma, fruity and spicy with some kind of saison esters. Taste is sweet, malt, fruit, spices, yeast and alcohol. Fine body and same fruity, spicy aftertaste that ads some bitterness at the end. Something between a Barley wine and imperial Saison. Fun to drink.

Redbrown color. Heavy malty aroma with licorice. Full bodied, thick and alcoholic. Somewhat sharp. Licorice, some roasted malt, laurel, tobacco and raisin in the flavor. Prickly on the tongue.Somewhat raw, could be cleaner, but certainly has quality. Also from tap the rating stays. Malty sweet, raisinny flavor with apple and licorice. Fairly complex beer, but the licorice and the sugar dominate. Malty arom with hints of butter. Slight alcohol burn, thick mouthfeel.

Flesje thuis gedeeld met J. Donkerbruin bier met matig schuim. Aroma is karamel achtig. Smaak is dropachtig, houtig en zoet. Nasmaak is ietsjes bitter, beetje zoet met de pit van een pepertje.

De fles was volgens het etiket houdbaar tot 2008, houdbaar tot 2013 volgens de sticker. Gedronken in 2017. Het is een donkerbruin bier met een volle schuimkraag. De geur is port achtig, weinig mondgevoel. De smaak is ook port achtig met een zoete banaan smaak.

Sampled @ PINT Winterbierfestival Gouda 2013. Unclear brownish color, small white to off-white head. Smell and taste malts, lightly sweet, lightly herbs and leaves. Medium body and carbonation.
