Christmas Eve Beers #2. Nicely crisp session hoppy ale, so slips down the palate with much ease. A few malts in aroma. Clear golden coloured with a thick frothy-creamy head. Mulled wine doing better than this one though tonight.

22/1/2022. Cask at The Ploughman, Werrington, Peterborough. Pours clear golden with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of hops, straw, citrus, malt, grass. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily watery texture, average to soft carbonation. Nice bitterness to finish. Easily the best of the 3 Milestone beers on here today.

Cask: Poured a golden with a white head. Aroma is light hops, fruity, grain. Taste is light fruity, loads of grain.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Appearance - deep golden, fluffy white head. Nose - biscuit with light lemon note. Taste - more biscuit. Caramel this time instead of lemon. Palate - light to medium bodied and reasonably fresh on the finish. Overall - ok.

Cask @ Royal Blenheim, Oxford. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty and fruity. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish. Watery. 170218

Cask @ Royal Blenheim, Oxford. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are fruits, malt, hops and has a sweet finish.

500ml bottle from Doddington Hall Farm Shop. Golden colour with a slight white head. Aroma is sweet with hay and citrus lemon. Flavours are sweet citrus with fruit. Bitter finish.

Bottle conditioned 500ml: just out of date when opened on 3rd Nov 2012. I poured this slowly into an Abbot Ale glass tankard and it showed it’s self to be a good golden blonde colour, but with very little in the way of a head: white thin collar but no covering. Not overly impressed with what I got from this beer or the other two in the gift pack from my father. I hate being negative about small breweries but the beers have been poor quality and this beer is lucky to get the scores I’ve given it. Bland in taste and aroma: some slight malt and hop notes in the nose but not much. The flavours were biscuity malts with a mild fruity hop base that turned slightly bitter towards the end of each sip. For a Christmas beer it just lacked power and depth.
