Fra cask på Penderels Oak, London 13 Okt 17. Mørk amber. Lavt skum med litt farge. Aroma av søt frukt & bær. Smaken har det samme søte bærpreget. Tørr, sherryaktig avslutning. Av de bedre på festivalen.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol 13/10/2017. Deep brown in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Some floral hops, orange peel and berry fruits, spicy malts and a moderately dry finish. Good.

Cask at The George, Croydon. It pours clear very dark brown with an off-white head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, bit of treacle, oily dark fruits, bit of plum and plain chocolate. The taste is bitter - sweet, charred pine, resin, peppery spice, cocoa powder, coffee grounds, sweet roasted malt, earth and treacle with a drying and toasty finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Not much depth and a touch oily. Fair.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Chestnut with a moderate off-white head. Oh, this is a bit crap after the Adnams/Sixpoint BKLYN I had just before. Serves me right for drinking in colour order rather than ascending expectations order. A lot of buttery cloying cream, some toffee, a smidgen of roastiness, and a scrooge’s pinch of piney, grapefruity hops. Unbalanced and left a film of unpleasantness coating my mouth. Yahboosucks to Caley, wish I had some of the Adnams left.

Cask at Tanners Hall JDW Darlington. Black-brown colour, off-white foam head that dissipates away and aroma is tropical fruit hoppy with roasted malt. Taste is roasted malty with fruity hoppy, sweetish notes, coffee & chocolate and some bitterness. Fairly thin mouthfeel, light to medium bodied, soft carbonation, roast bitter finish. Quite drinkable.
