Sam’s Poundhouse Cider is named after Sam Inch who started the tradition of cider making on the Hatherleigh Road site. It is a clear refreshing drink, slightly sparkling, made using the latest techniques and the finest ingredients. It is very popular and is now available in Dry, Medium and Sweet varieties.

Clear 500ml bottle: BBE May 2023. Drank at home after mowing my lawns on 22nd September 2021. Clean light golden body, no head (it was over chilled). Apples, it tasted of apples.

Bottle from the Food Shop in Dartington. Appearance - golden yellow and there's gentle carbonation. Nose - like the crisp version there's a dry apple apple skin thing going on. Hay too. Taste - more of the crispness, there's more sweetness in the middle but still a tart finish. Palate - medium bodied and tangy, nice balance of sweet and dry. Overall - good stuff.

Bottle. Medium head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are sweet apples, fruits, sulphur stables and has a nice fruity finish.

50 cL clear bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a huge white head. Aroma is mild bretty and crisp apples zesty. Fruity, mellow zesty and smooth fruity finish.

500ml bottle from Tuckers Maltings. Clear pale golden colour with a shortlived fizzy white head. Aroma of apple, fruity, melon, oak, barnyard. Tangy apple flavour with barnyard & woody oak notes, plus some dry tannins. Slightly oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, dry earthy tannic finish. Quite drinkable.
