Cask @ Pilgrims Progress, Bedford. Deep amber, compact white head. Considerable foamy lacing. Aroma is fresh and vinous with hop notes of gooseberry and grass. The taste however doesn’t measure up: initial refreshing sweetness gives way to an acrid bitter finish and aftertaste. Unbalanced but an overall good experience, worth trying if you haven’t already.

Cask at Tanners Hall JDW Darlington. Clear yellowy-bronze amber colour, off-white foam head and grainy aroma. Taste of grain, citrus and spruce, with some spice and a lingering bitterness. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, spicey bitter finish. Quite OK.

Cask at the moon under water Watford. Golden colour with a lasting loose white head. Aroma is nice nice floral and spicy rye grain and nutty. Some nice orange citrus aroma as well. Flavour is nicely balanced between grain and adjuncts. Nutty spicy grains and floral hop. Nice subtle juniper character. Very well balanced and drinkable. Good condition. Some honey notes. Good stuff.
