Made with some pears, this classic cider has a "bittersweet" edge reminiscent of our own west-country farm ciders. The label depicts a Norman archer - 1066 and all that! Partially filtered and inclined to be cloudy, the bottle has a handy screw cap.

Bottke shared at Simons. It pours clear orangey - amber a with small fizzy white head. The aroma is sweet, tangy apple, apple pie, slight tartness, bit of wood, dull funk, must and hay. The taste is sweet, tangy, ripe apple, sugary, apple pie, sweeter end, apple skin and just a touch of woody tannin with a drying finish. Average body and fizzy carbonation. Not bad for a sweetish cider.

1000ml bottle. Sparkling clear orange-yellow golden colour, shortlived white foam head and aroma of woody apple, oak, slight barnyard. Taste is sweetish, juicy apple, with some tartness plus toffee, oaky and barnyard notes. Slightly oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, medium carbonation, dry tannic finish. Quite drinkable.
