(Bottle, Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 28 July 2017) Dark brown colour, almost black, with brief beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark bread, chocolate and coffee. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, dark bread, dark fruit, roasted malt and a balanced roasty bitterness. More than medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and well made. Nice one.

Bottle shared thanks to kermis. Very dark brown with big darker beige head. Slick ice coffee, dark chocolate, old wood, chocolate ice cream, quite some fresh herbs, dry cocoa powder, some caramel malts. Under medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with slick feel but also a dry powdery finish. Decent enough.

Bottle shared with Deanso and Maakun at Gekke Geit, The Hague. Near black with a beige head. Aroma of chocolate, light roast, caramel, toffee and vegetal notes. Flavour is above moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

33 cl bottle @ home. Very dark color, almost black. Beige head with pretty good retention. Aroma’s: sweet, red fruit, some chocolate, light roast. Retronasal there’s more chocolate and roast, less fruit, some moss. Flavor is moderate sweet, roasty, light bitter. Medium bodied. A bit low carbonation. Finishes sloghtly dry, moderate roasty bitter. One of the better ones I’ve had from the Butcher.
