A heady bittersweet cocktail of our favourite new world hops bursting with tropical and citrus fruits, compounded with a blend of the finest European malts, all fermented with an American west coast yeast for a clean dry finish.

Light haze on this amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is smooth and fairly dry, decent fine carbonation. Airy malts, light creamy sweetness. Tangy orange and dry pith. Bitter orange peel underneath. Light semi dry finish. A bit tangy but not bad.

Bottle. Fuggle & Golding, Ilkley. Hazy, dark gold. Film of white head. Fusty, jammy, grapefruit marmalade hop. Tinned fruit syrup. A bit woody. A bit resinous. Taste is sweet, turning full on bitter. Feels a big beer, although maybe not to the tune of 9.6%. Smooth and chewy. Finishes long, resinous, woody bitter. Little in the way of balance. It’s a bruiser of an IPA. Pretty likeable.

Keg at the Quakerhouse, Darlington. Orange amber colour, white foam head and fruity mango aroma. Taste is sweet fruity, malt caramel, woody, some fruity mango and yeast, plus a boozy note. Quite a creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry harsh tangy yeasty finish with alcohol evident rather than bitterness coming through. Abit unbalanced but interesting take on a DIPA.
