Citra is the most well received in our series of Single Hop beers. After taking Gold in 2011 and 2012 at the California Craft Brew Competition, and due to its high demand with our consumers, we decided to make this a year-round style. This IPA pours a dark amber in color with an off-white head. The hop aroma is floral, with citrus notes, while the malts have a toasted barley character with some caramel. Citra‘s hop flavor is resiny, with some citrus quality that is offset by toasty malt flavors with a touch of caramel. This is a moderately full bodied beer, with a bright carbonation, and a dry finish.

Tap @ BeerFes Yokohama, September 17th, 2017. Pours nice hazy yellow, light skirmish of foam. Nose is nice Citra, lots of lemon peel and grapefruit. Taste also citric, excellent fresh example of the single hop. Long resiny and citric linger in the finish. Well done.

650ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, dark amber colour with average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Citrusy hoppy aroma notes of lemon tea, caramel malty basis. Taste is dry, grassy hoppy, minimally chalky and mineral, notes of lemon tea, lemon zest, malty basis without residual sweetness.

Bottle shared by Ben, thanks! Pours a clear golden orange with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of citrus with a decent amount of sweet grains and a touch of caramel. Flavor is citrus forward with a sweet grains backbone and some additional sweetness from caramel.

Light haze on this amber beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Light malts, semi sweet with a mild caramel streak. Good orange start to the hops, little hop spice. Some peel and marmalade. Pine and a whisper of lemon. Smooth semi dry finish. A balanced and flavoursome IPA but the Crystal malts won’t be to everyones taste.
