The villagers knew when Squire Churchward had been to visit Mr Hunt. They’d see him wobbling towards the Manor. “Squire’s bin on the Wobbler” they’d say knowingly, describing the still, medium-sweet cider made here on the farm for more than 200 years.

BIAB up the White Lady. Pours still golden. Aromas of apple, little else. Taste has more going on, tannins and light acidity, more sweet apple. Drinks like apple juice though.

Box @ Montgomery's Tower. Pours clear gold, pure apple fruit on the nose. Taste introduces a familiar biting Hunts tang, good farmhouse fruit presence, a touch woody, faint orchard must. Good.

BIAB at Tanners Hall Darlington JDW Fest 2018. Golden colour, no head and rubbery apple aroma. Taste is sweet, juicy apple, with some leathery funk, woody oak, horseblanket and earthy tannin. Oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, low carbonation, medium sweet tart finish. Quite drinkable.

Bag in a box at Muggleton Inn JDW Maidstone. Clear gold colour no head. Apple juice and tannin aroma. Yes good apple tannin in the mouth. Reminds me of the scrumpy my Dad would buy on holiday in the West Country. Dry finish. Good tannin and apple flavour character.
