So this beer is strong, powerful and non-conformist; a bitter-sweet and rather ascetic beer in a style that I have called 'Imperial Austrian Porter' in her honour nut not unlike a Russian Imperial Stout. Brewed on: 7.11.2014 Bottled: 10.11.2015. Brewed again on: 2.4.2017 Bottled: 27.5.2017

Bottle from Hoptimism. Coffee and cocoa aroma. Bitter berry edge. Dark and glossy. Creamy beige head starts off promisingly but soon fades. Medium-heavy bitter. Dark chocolate and charcoal. As I drink more a subtle sweetness comes through - vanilla cream and burnt caramel. Even a touch of salt. Thick and oily. Flat-average carbonation. Low key astringent finish. Particularly enjoying the palate but overall a damn good Imperial Porter.

Bottle, packaged 27.05.17. 8.5%. Picked up at the brewery. Very dark, chocolate brown. A bit muddy. Slimmest halo of tan head. Some legs. Nose has soft oak. Woody booze, possibly whisky. Earthy coffee. Bitumen. Touch of bonfire toffee. Taste has a dark chocolate sweetness, with earthy, woody dryness. Low carbonation matches the earthiness well. Some twang on it. Fairy fruity, woody bitterness to finish.

Cellar clean out session Pt Deux. Opaque dark brown beer, tidy dark tan head. Palate is smooth, mildly dry and has decent fine carbonation. Tangy rich dark malts, mild dark chocolate. Tangy coffee. Rich chewy fruits run throughout, some Coca Cola and Dr Pepper like fruitiness. Light finish. Really nice chewy fruity porter. Very drinkable.
