A Munich Helles style lager that’s low in bitterness & brewed using Extra Pale, Cara and Munich malts for just a hint of maltiness. We brew it using a traditional bottom fermenting lager yeast & hop it principally with German Saaz. We also add a small amount of some zesty American hops at the end, just for a little zing. Not too much so that it strays into Pale Ale territory, but just enough to tickle the tastebuds.

Draft at the Saffrons taproom. Poured a crystal clear golden colour with a thin white head. The aroma is herbal, yeasty. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a crisp, dry, yeasty, herbal, woody hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A solid lager if that’s what floats your boat.

Third of a pint on a flight in the Old Bike Store, Worthing, early evening on 19th July 2025. Clean and clear golden body, white crust. Pleasant enough Pilsner/Helles, mini-malt action gives a slight lift to the mainly hoppy flavours. Certainly had worse UK brewed German style beers.

Can swop from friend. Aroma not pronounced, but there are some sweet fruits there. P:ours a slightly hazy golden yellow with a generous but temporary white head. Sweet and malty to start with in the mouth, followed by grains and a tinny feel until some soft citrus comes through later. A crisp finish of “good” (not bitter) lemon. Pleasant and undemanding – perfect for a warm spring day.

330ml can from Seven Cellars. Gluten Free. Slightly hazy yellow gold colour, white foamy head leaving some lacing and grainy grassy aroma. Taste is malt, grain, straw, hay with grassy metallic bitterness. Medium bodied, soft to medium carbonation, dry tangy grassy metallic bitter finish. Quite OK
