Shallow Grave Porter is dark as night, perfect for a cool evening out in the woods. This a big, dark ale with a complex and rich chocolate and caramel malt character followed by a touch of warmth and light malt sweetness, leaving you ready for more after each shovelful. You will love this so much you won’t have time to dig a six-footer, so make it a Shallow Grave.
We’re sure you’ll dig it.

On Tap at Growler Guys Meridian Dep dark brown with a brief thin light tan head and spotty lacing. Very nice rich chocolate and light roast aromas. Smooth and balanced toasted dark caramelized malt flavors. Lots of chocolate and a touch of campfire. None of the stinging sour notes that come with many porters. FG feels a litel high and the bitterness is a little low. Makes or a smooth very nice porter that is a bit on the the big side.

Tap at Hair of the Dog, Phrom Phong, Bangkok. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy off white head. The aroma is roasty malt, caramel fudge, liqourice, dry smoke. The flavour is moderate to light sweet with a silky smooth rich, creamy, chocolate, liqourice hop bitter palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

(Draught at Delirium Hoppy Loft, Brussels, 17 May 2017) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of chocolate, hazelnuts and coffee. Malty, roasted taste with dark rye bread, coffee, dark chocolate, hazelnuts, dark fruit and a balanced roasty bitterness. More than medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well balanced porter. Nice one.

Keg at Small Bar Cardiff. Patchy beige head, spotty lacing, near-black coloured body. Dark malty aroma, doughy and with hints of dark fruits. The taste profile follows suit with doughy dark malts, chocolate and hints of dark fruits towards the finish. Roasted endnotes. Fine bodied and balanced. Likable. (02.05.2017).
