Shallow Grave Porter is dark as night, perfect for a cool evening out in the woods. This a big, dark ale with a complex and rich chocolate and caramel malt character followed by a touch of warmth and light malt sweetness, leaving you ready for more after each shovelful. You will love this so much you won’t have time to dig a six-footer, so make it a Shallow Grave.
We’re sure you’ll dig it.

Tap at Dig. Nose or roasty chocolate, umami, wine ro port, and lots of phenols-berries and rubber. Flavor is super phenoloc, tons of black berry and burnt rubber, with chocolate and lots of umami. Nice silky body. This could be good but the phenolic character makes it almost impossible to drink.

Part of the 1000 at AQ Bevolution’s Event at Kamikaze 7% a bit darker than Miscreant Sour Ale with a similar beige head. An aroma is a very soft sweet chocolate quality. The flavor is roasty/toasted notes, chocolate & a bit of bitterness. Very smooth.

Bottle thanks to a trade. Pours a near clear dark brown with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has some musty dark grains and light chocolate with a bit of underlying toffee. Flavor has musty dark grains throughout the beer with a bit of sweet chocolate and caramel underlying.

From the March 2013 3R6P tasting. +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a medium sized brown head that faded quickly and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was dry, roasty, smoky and woody. The flavor was dry and roasty with notes of anise and smoke and old school McDonalds coffee (the really bad stuff). Medium length dry McDonalds coffee finish. Medium body. Pretty awful.
