A mild medium bittersweet apple from Herefordshire. It is a small greenish yellow fruit with russet around the eye. This varieties soft tannin matured in an oak barrel has given the cider an elegant flavour.

Bottle at 8.4%. It pours clear yellow with a fizzy dissipating white head. The aroma is ripe and tart, zingy apple, apple skin, soor plooms, tangy, juicy fruits, sherbert, sour candy, funk, barnyard and oak. The taste is firmly dry, apple skin, fresh green apple, puckering, zingy, funk, oak, barnyard, touch of tannin and splash of boozy heat with a bone dry and oaky finale.. Medium body and just a hint of fizz. Firm and quaffable. Enjoyable dry real cider action.

Sample, thanks to Danlo! Pours misty golden yellow. Aroma is a little woody, light sulphur, funk. Taste continues along similar lines, funk, barnyard, orchard apple with a smooth sweetness that runs throughout, light caramel and vanilla, subtle tannin. Pretty good with a noticeable oaky influence.

750ml bottle from Scrattings, as Oak Cask Brown Snout S.V.C 2017, 8.4%. Hazy golden colour, short-lived white foam head and mucky, oily, barnyard aroma. Taste is tangy apple, woody, sharp, with lots of funky barnyard, leather, oil, some citric notes, and bittersweet earthy tannins. Medium bodied, low to medium carbonation, dry tart tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.

75cl bottle. Appearance - golden with a hint of orange. Gentle bit of bubble. Nose - farmyard note, bruised apples and pears. Taste - mineral, creamy custard and cooked pear, a big tarte tatin. Palate - medium bodied and very creamy. Overall - didn't expect it to be so creamy and that was a nice surprise against the expected tang and high acid.
