Crabapples provide a tart yet vinous quality to this carefully crafted Cider. Quite charming and only a little evil. Perfect with (or after) hearty meals.

750ml bottle from Scrattings. It pours clear and a lovely deep red hue with a touch of fleeting froth on top. The aroma is zingy, bright, lovely red crab apple character, cranberry, touch of red grape, sherbet fountain, oak, funk and earth. The taste is firmly dry, tart, puckering, tannin, oak, sherbet, crab apples aplenty, sherbet, zingy vibes, funk, barnyard action, touch of minerality, light acidity, drying, earth, cranberry, vinous vibes and red grape with a drying and tannin finish. Medium body and a hint of fizz. Lovely crabapple showcase. Tart, funky, tannin and nice crisp red fruits. A joy to drink.

26/7/2019. Sample from bottle courtesy of danlo, cheers Ed! Pours virtually clear golden amber with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of medium sweet apples, caramel, wood, apple core, light brown sugar. Moderate sweetness and tartness. Moderate body, slight oily and watery texture, soft carbonation. Nice sweet and tart mix to finish, with a dry, slightly tannic and astringent end. Bit watery but overall enjoyable.

Sample thanks to Danlo! Pours an unclear amber orange. Wild fruity nose, a touch herbal. Taste bears quite a big fleshy characterful crab apple character, moderate sweetness, a touch woody, fine acidity with typically coarse tannins. A little oxidisation, but generally a decent showcase.

750ml bottle from Scrattings. Deep orangey amber-gold colour, afew bubbles on top and aroma of orchardy, fleshy apple, some funk. Taste is tart, sharp, tangy apple, fleshy, acidic, bittersweet with leafy, leathery funk and a biscuity, cardboard note. Slick mouthfeel, medium bodied, low carbonation, dry tart acidic finish. Interesting, quite OK - just pick up a slight oxidised undertone at the end.
