2016 catch up - A nice strong bitter. Lots of malt and a good bitterness from the hops, but not a memorable beer.

[ As Old Chimneys Red Stag ].Unclear medium amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, fruity malt, sweet malt, flowers, marmalade hops. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration, sweetmalt, fruity malt, caramel, marmalade. Thank you cgarvieuk. 330 ml. bottle sampled @ Pre-Borefts Ratebeer Tasting 2016. Dark amber, little off-white head. Nose is bland sweet malt syrup, chestnut, toffee, empty, metallic. Taste is just weird, vegetable sweet, sugar, yeast, metallic, weird bitter insecticide. Body is yeast, plastic. Quite a messed-up beer & not in a fun way.

Bottle shared @ Borefts Pre-tasting. Red-brown color, small to average sized off-white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, sweetness, floral sweetness, blossomy sweetness. Decnt body and carbonation. Meh.

Sampled @ Pre-Borefts-Tasting 2016. Trübes orange braunes Bier mit geringen beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr hopfig, rote Früchte, leicht holzig. Geschmack nach roten Früchten, sehr malzig, bitter, Gewürze.
