26/4/2019. Bottle, sample, courtesy of danlo, cheers Ed. Pours dark amber/bronze with a bubbly off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt loaf, dried fruits, over-ripe plums, prunes and cheap artificially sweetened supermarket cola. Heavy sweetness, minimal bitterness. Moderate body, sticky texture, soft carbonation. Quite liked the Soreen-esq element to it but that was about all.

1.5L plastic bottle from local European shop, Darlington UK. Mahogany brown colour, fizzy bubbly tan foam head that dissipates away and aroma of molasses, malty, roasty hint. Taste is sweet, bready malty, dark fruity prunes, nutty cola notes, sugary. Thin mouthfeel, light bodied, high fizzy carbonation, dry cola-like finish with residual sweetness. Malty-pop, quite sweet.

550 ml plastic bottle in Riga. Pours brown and transparent, not much foam. Sweet caramel, light bread in the nose. Tastes sweet, carbonated and somewhat artificial flavoured fizzy drink. Some dried breadcrumbs in the finish. I can drink it but this is not really a kvass but a kvass flavoured lemonade at best.

Bottle in Riga. Sweetish malty beginning. Easy to drink with sourish rye hints. Not too sourish, sessionable with a nice round and smooth back. Sourish maltiness, rye and no bitterness. Nice one.

Sampled from bottle cheers to Sarkynorthener; clear cheap cola brown pour with zero head, aroma has sweet malts, taste has sweet malts, slight toffee, ok.

50cl PET bottle from Rimi, Riga. Clear dark brown not much of a head to speak of. Aroma of caramel with bready and malty notes. Feels more like a kvass flavoured soda than the real thing. Not quite my cup of tea, but drinable enough.

500ml bottle from European Shop in Rotherham - can’t believe I’m rating this, I only Googled Kvasa to find out what I’d ended up buying when I thought there was nothing interesting available, so walked out with a random European soft drink and ended up on this page. Pours a cola coloured reddish noir with a thin soon gone head. Nose is a weird malt cum raisins with the taste similar to cola with a malty aftertaste. Anyway, going back to Google now to find out wtf kvasa is now.

Poured from a plastic bottle. Clear mahogany coloured body. Ring of bubbles to the rim of the surface. Dried fruits and bread-like malts to the nose. Sweet prune compote and bready taste. Thin bodied. An unvaried sweet soft drink (kindly shared by djoeye, Tromsø 07.05.2014).

Bottle courtesy of jackl.... It pours deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is cardboard, wood, toast and burnt caramel. The taste is caramel, cola, intense sweetness, sugar and processed store-bought cake with a sweet, sugary finish. Light body and moderate to high carbonation. Wow....! Disgustingly sweet. Not an enjoyable drinking experience.
