Bottle at the pre-Borefts tasting, Den Haag, 2016. Poured a hazy medium amber with a frothy short-lived white head. The aroma is dry yeast, floral medicinal hop, some fruit. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light crisp, spicy, woody hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation.

Level 42 Bottleshare. Thanks to Paul. Clear amber beer, thin pale cream colour head. Palate is light and dry, decent fine carbonation. Sweetish malts. Mild floral mid. Ripe fruits and dried fruits. Little orange peep. Floral spicy finish. Decent bitter.

Bottle shared in CW - thanks to Paul. Pours mostly clear Amber with a creamy topping. Leafy hops in those, light toffee, toasted biscuit. Light to medium sweet flavour with more toffee, earth, mild leafy bitterness, toasted grains. Lei bodied with fine to average carbonation. Decent balance on th finish, some dried fruits. Nice.

Bottle shared on Level 42 15/08/2016. Thanks to Paul for this one. A amber brown coloured pour with a halo of light tan head. Aroma is jammy berries, cakey n malts, nutty, toasted. Flavour is composed of toasted malts, nutty, raisin, cakey, mineral. Palate is light, chalky, highish carbonation. Good. Lingering jammy fruits.

Bottle picked up at the brewery. It pours rich amber - brown with a medium off - white head. The aroma is wood, varnish, toasted nut, earth, leather and light spice. The taste is crisp, bitter, wood, leather, caramel, damp leaves, spice, chewy action and dried fruits with a dry, woody finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Nice old school esb.

Bottle at Level 42 Tasting, thanks to Scoopey, 16/08/16. Chestnut brown to amber with a decent beige cap. Nose is nutty, light fruit esters, biscuit. Taste comprises fruit cake, brown sugar, candied fruit peel, brown bread, biscuit malt. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light bitterings. Adequate for style.
