Katy Perry packs bags of character yet remains delicately poised; much the same as the field mice scurrying around in the woodland on the edges of our orchard. The refreshingly clean and crisp taste of Katy apples married with the citrus tones and floral aroma of Perry pears produces a distinctively quaffable flavour combination.

Can from a deli in Ripley. Aroma has a bitter peel streak with a light sweet edge. Clear light gold. Fizzy foamy translucent white head has a short shelf life. Initial dry bitterness is swiftly followed by sweet juice. Although the dryness is there throughout. Light. Thin. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Nice if unexciting.

Bag in a box at the Robert Fitzharding (JDW), Bedminster, Bristol 10/10/2022. Greenish-yellow in colour and flat. An enjoyable, easy drinking Perry, with some ripe and slightly sweet fruit, rustic hay notes and gentle finish. Very drinkable.

Baginabox at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Clear pale gold with green hints. Clever name for it. Tastes of tinned pears on syrup with a scrumpyish tannic background. Sharp up front, plenty of sweetness, some vanilla and a dry finish. Smooth but dry aftertaste Pretty pleasant. I enjoyed it.
