In collaborating with Stillwater Artisanal we always focus on distinct, clear, punchy flavors. This beer is no exception. Inspired by everyone’s favorite candy, this is a chocolate bar in a bottle. Unwrap!

We’ve brewed a lot of beers with Stillwater Artisanal. Before this one, we’d done six. All sours. So, when discussing our seventh collaboration, we knew we wanted to do something different. Choice fell on a big, thick, creamy stout. So far so good, but how do we approach a stout? What, other then sourness, is it that makes a Dugges/Stillwater collaboration? Clarity and directness was what we found. Choose a path and stay on it to the end. Decide upon one thing you want to bring forward and then do it to the max. Having already decided on a stout, maxing it with chocolate was a given. We wanted a beer that was equal part childhood dessert and candy bar. Brian came over from the US, we brewed the beer and the rest is chocolate. As all things are now. Chocolate.

Black with almost no head. Aroma is perfume, hazelnut, toffifee, coconut, warming, soothing. Taste is very sweet stale cocoa juice, very syrupy, not balanced. Carbonation is somehow not favorable.

Bottle. Darkest brown, no head. Caramel chocolate, nuts - Toffife aroma. Sweet, oxidized chocolate, metallic, one-dim caramel, butter, nut, diacetyl-like, don't like the balance here. Medium light sticky body. Light herbal finish. Fruit macaroons retronaal.

Bottle many thanks Nische! Brown color with beige head. Aroma is hazelnuts, Toffifee, chocolate. Taste is hazelnuts, Toffifee, caramel, butterscotch, coconut, burnt hazelnuts. Silky mouthfeel with high carbonation. Burnt hazelnut aftertaste. Very tasty, but maybe a bit too much Butterscotch in flavour.

Poor beige head, quickly dissapearing. Very intensive, fanstastic aroma of chocolate, cacao, cocoa, vanilla, chocolate licorice. Very sweet. Taste is also full of chocolate, cacao, reminds chocolate licorice. Little sour finish. Well hidden alcohol. Low carbonation, full body. Very nice beer. #Teamslodyczka!

Bottle shared at a tasting at Max's place. Black, a bit of tan foam. Big chocolate, vanilla, coconut, some cherries, sweet, light sourish cherry hint, caramel, maple, full-bodied, rounded, chewy. Great.

330ml Bottle - Black with a small head. Cocoa, vanilla and coconut in the aroma. Sweet taste with cocoa powder, vanilla, coconut and some roasted notes detected. Relatively easy to drink for a beer of this type but it tastes a bit artificial.

Fudge, brown sugar, and rum nose. Mahogany and headless. Fudge and raisins prune accents. Full body, easy carbonation, blood-like viscosity. Nice, but I would like to see more roastiness.

Bottle from SB. Dark brown with a reddish tint, almost no head. Aroma is dominated by caramel and chocolate. Taste is more chocolate with a slight bitterness, caramel sauce, cocoa and vanilla. Pretty sweet but it works. Basically a liquid dessert. HIdes alcohol very well.
