Bottle at a restaurant. Aroma is dark malt with light roast, caramel, a slight touch of chocolate, dried dark fruits and metallic notes. Flavour is medium sweet with some roasty bitterness in the finish. Body is medium but feels a bit thin considering the abv. Average Dubbel made a little bit more interesting through the use of chocolate malt, but suffers from an insufficient body.

Bottle, 6.5%. Dark sugar aroma. Almost clear dark brown colour. Bid stable rocky tan head. The flavour has some dark sugar, but not too sweet. Yeasty finish, slightly citric. Good example of the style, in my opinion.

330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, copper-ish, brown colour with average, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Minimally nutty, toasty malty, grassy hoppy and minimally yeasty, fruity aroma, hints of Brazil nut, a touch of red berries, black tea, even whiffs of Earl Grey. Taste is dry, sour-ish, minimally nutty, toasty malty, hints of Brazil nut, chestnut, a cautious fruity touch of cherry, morello; sour, grassy finish. Watery texture, dry, minimally astringent, simultaneously nonetheless minimally cloying palate, fine, soft carbonation. Oops! - Obviously something went wrong here. Not really infected but exhibiting inadequate tartness - still acceptable.

Bottle from Slijterij Enkhuizen. Unclear brown with offwhite head. Bitter nutty brown caramels with a sour infected edge. Very bitter and dry. Under medium body and soft carbonation.

Bottle shared thanks to and at sjogro. Clear brown with small beige head. Light berries, moldy, dry malts, earthy, sour grains, garbage funk. Under medium sour and bitter, light sweet. Medium bodied with a bit watery finish. Something went wrong here.
