Back in the days, only uncomplicated and tasteless beers excited and people started feeling bored before happy hour was up. Molotov Lite is a understated tour de force in rebellious hoppiness, it’s a subtle spark for action and yet by far one of the most anti-authoritative beers ever made by Evil Twin Brewing.

can - Pours slightly hazy orange and smells mainly of citrus and floral hops. The flavor features the expected strong bitterness of the style with good citrus notes and some sweet malt. Medium bodied, to me it’s a fairly standard flavor profile for an IIPA and that’s not a bad thing. It’s well executed.

Keg at Cask Pub and Kitchen, Pimlico, London. A golden/yellow coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, malty, tropical fruit on the nose. Tastes quite similar, hoppy, malty, tropical fruit, orange, peach, slight grapefruit. Prefer the original Molotov but this was still pretty good, would go for it again.

Tap at Beergeek Bar. Lots of hops presence both aromatics and bitterness wise. Thin bodied, to the point of being slightly watery. The hops flavour is good though, citrusy, zesty, resiny. Moderate general fruity esters. At least easy drinking though.

Can at Old Chicago-Lakewood. Nothing special on pour, aroma hints at hoppiness. So while prepared for a big hops bite, it’s the malts that wash over you first. Cloudy light amber pour with nice lasting creamy head. Barleywine with a hops sting. Enjoying this immensely.

Can 1 pt. Pours golden with a slight haze and a dense and lacing white head. Subtle tropical hops in the nose. Rich, sweet and very malty body with a bitter finish. Sweet and a little crude, kinda maltliquorish. 010616

Can at home, picked up from brewdog online. About a year old. A golden orange coloured pour, mostly clear with a little yeast and a fading white head. Aroma is earthy pine, resinous, and tart citrus hop, hints of caramel and biscuit grains and a bit of hot alcohol presence on the nose. Flavour is composed of semi sweet grains, hint of oxidation, grassy hop, bitter sharp tangy biting grapefruit hop, hot alcohol , hairspray, lingering bitter grapefruit juice. Palate is medium bodied, solvent, moderate carbonation, sticky hop. Sat on this one too long. It’s way past it’s best so i’ll take the higher of the two scores. 7-4-6-3-12 = 3.2
Bottle split at ABC Beer The Hague, 24/09/2015. Thanks. A bright golden / yellow / orange coloured pour with a small head. Aroma is dank grassy earthy hop, hints of resin and caramel grains. Flavour is composed of dank grassy citrus, chewy grassy hop. Palate is chewy and resinous, highish carbonation. Assertive hop bitterness and pretty clean.

Can: Poured a golden color ale with a nice pure white foamy head. Aroma of resinous hops with light caramel notes and some warming alcohol notes. Taste is also a mix of resinous hops with light citrus notes, some caramel malt with residual sugar notes and some warming alcohol notes. Body is about average with somewhat of an oily texture and good carbonation. Sugars is too upfront for my own taste buds.
