Iron Maiden's Trooper Sun and Steel is a 4.8% double-fermented pilsner-style lager, infused with authentic Japanese saké yeast from the award-winning Okunomatsu saké brewery in Japan.

The result is a crisp and refreshing pilsner-style lager with a flash of honey and fruit.

Crystal clear golden coloured body with a very thick, pure white head that fades pretty quickly. Aroma of light grain, a dash of lager yeast, some bread and lemons with very little else aside from metallic astringency. Light-bodied; Sharp pungent grainy and metallic flavours dominate with a lot of grass and hay notes with little else, aside from some flowers and lemons and more bitterness, this time from the light alcohol which is here. Aftertaste is crisp and fairly easy-drinking with only the light grass and grainy notes with very little else, and a touch of the alcohol and metal towards the end. Overall, not such a great beer, as expected, but when it's available, and cheap and there aren't many alternatives, this isn't a horrible option. Decent to get at least now while in South America! I sampled this 500 mL can, purchased from Jumbo [supermarket] here in central Santiago, Chile for CLP 1,279 on 09-August-2022, on my thirteenth wedding anniversary with my wife and three kids, sampled a day later on the streets of Santiago, Chile on 10-August-2022.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear golden with a white head. Fairly neutral aroma, there only a slightly metallic hint. Light-bodied, dry maltiness, again metallic and slightly tart before some bittering hops. Super generic Pale Lager of inferior quality. 090622

330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Jan 22. Thanks Simon for this Asda purchase. Clear golden yellow appearance, white head. Very light but noticeable sake influence to taste, complimenting a nicely sweet lager profile, though could be more crisp and dry. Decent.

[33cl bottle from B&M, Festival Park, Hanley.] A pale straw coloured pour with a thin white head; grassy aroma; grainy body with an odd sourness (perhaps the Sake?); and a fresh finish. Not bad.

330ml bottle, bought to tick the style on Untappd that doesn't exist here. Pours clear golden with a slim white head. Aroma: grainy, citrus, floral, grassy. Taste: light to medium sweet, grains, light citrus, honey, floral. Light to medium body with low carbonation. Not special but not terrible either

Clear blond colour with thin head. Aroma has lots of sweet pale malts. Flavour starts similarly then there's an unusual fruity element, I guess from the Sake. It's ok.

0,5 can.Very light, watery appearance, almost zero head. Slightly citrusy, grassy aroma, quite interesting. The hops carry the flavor, with a subtle hint of lime, medium-bodied. It was categorized as a Pilsner, I prefer a more citrusy hoppy lager, but the bitterness is not at the level of a good Pilsner. It's good for thirst quenchers, but here, it's expensive compared to this. It has an interesting spiciness, which threw it off. If I read correctly, is there unmalted wheat in it? I got pretty much what I expected.
