Unexpectedly encountered in a pub in Sint-Gillis-Waas, hadn’t heard of this before. Hazy yellow blonde beer with somewhat greenish hue under a thick, frothy, sticky, milk white head retaining well. Spiced aroma with citrus ’freshener’ but not unpleasant at all; I get orange peel, limoncello, cardamom, ginger, pineapple, honey, white bread, peach, apple juice, bergamot essential oil or something alike, banana. Sweet fruitiness and spiciness in the mouth, hints of banana and pineapple, some gooseberry perhaps, faint iron presence, medium to strongish carbo; honeyish and bready malt sweetness follow, ending in a finish of mild grassy and slightly peppery hop bitterness, the retronasal citrus aroma, a touch of warming alcohol and something vaguely plastic-like which kind of spoils the finish for me. Apart from that though, this is an enjoyable beer: spiced beers can go in any direction from pleasantly aromatic to undrinkable, but this one to me belongs to the first category.

14/VIII/13 - 33cl bottle @ Internationaal Streekbierenfestival 2013 (Zwevegem) - BB: n/a (2013-763) Thanks to Domien for sharing today's beers!

clear orange beer, creamy off-white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: pretty fruity, citrus, little herbal, grains, a bit "off". MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet malts, toast, hint of caramel, herbal to grassy hops, if just a little. Aftertaste: citrus, little bitter, some sour hoppy touch, grains, alcohol is noticeable, bit medicinal ending.

Head gone in secs to white rim on a clear golden beer. Rainwater, and very faraway, but present curryherbs. Flowery too, like limeblossom (the deciduous northern tree, not the citrustree). Perfumed, rosewater, pale malts and expressly spritzy, in fact fizzy MF. Retronasal I get greenmalt. Light body. Decent, if nowhere great.
