Tap @ Van Moll Brewpub. Clear dark amber to almost purple color, full sized dense off-white to beige head that lasts for a long time. Smell and taste malts, sweetish, sugary, slightly bitter hints in the finish.

(Draught at De Drie Dorstige Herten, Utrecht, 24 Feb 2017) Dark brown colour with hints of ruby. Dense beige head. Malty nose with notes of caramel, dried fruit, burnt sugar, treacle and a touch of smoke. Malty taste with caramel, chocolate, vanilla, roasted nuts and a slightly vinous and warming finish with a mild bitterness. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and warming, quite well balanced for its strength. Very nice.

Tap at Winterbierfestival Gouda. Very dark brown with beige head. Grassy, condensed milk, quite herbal, caramel, toffee, light milk chocolate. There’s lots of sweet malts which is nice, some bitter herbs but the milky notes I don’t really like. Full bodied. Well hidden alcohol and quite interesting but not that great.
