Very rich, slightly glowing copper coloured body with a bit of an orange and honey tint and a nice three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of light biscuity malts, some citrus, a bit of caster sugar, some cardboardie funk and some pale yeast. Light-bodied; Strong biscuity flavours with lighter and less assertive malt coupled with some mellow fruits and grain flavour and a touch of bitterness. Aftertaste shows some grass, caster sugar, funk and a bit of stale malt - nothing too special here. Overall, if you pulled off this label, it would be decent at best, with a lot of mundane flavours, nothing exciting and no real profiles to sample, so sadly, I was disappointed, given the pedigree and the typically good ’classic’ beers from the brewery, but this wasn’t one of them. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from the Edelweiss Shop in Verona, Wisconsin (of course) on 24-September-2016 for US$3,00 by my mom - thanks Mom for bringing another NG beer back from Wisconsin, even though it wasn’t the bes, sampled at home in Washington on 11-October-2016.

Bottle. Pours clear pale orange - I was surprised at the amount of color in this one. Medium off-white head and nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is grain, floral notes, hay, grass. Flavor has a sharp bite to it, grass, grain, a touch of zesty bitterness. Not much sweetness. Light body, tons of carbonation. Pretty damn good.... for a Pilsener. Probably the best I have had that does not come from.... Ummmmm... well France. Check my ratings if you don’t believe me!

Bottle. Corn/barley malt aroma. Golden yellow with giant head. Sweet corny barley malt and had flavor. Medium body. Drinkable but a disappointment - more like a mediocre pale lager.

Clear gold with a huge, active off-white head. Aroma is malt, bright fruit, honey. Flavour is creamy malt, light acidity.... Clean, sweet and tasty.

Bottle courtesy of Madbeerbaron. Sweet bready malt and light grass aroma. Clear deep gold with a large dense, creamy white head. Sweet grainy malt flavor. Body on the light side of medium, soft carbonation. A bit on the sweet side, and could have used a bit more hop presence.

Bottle. Pours a light amber color with a fluffy head that leaves little lacing. Aroma is that classic lager. Some cereal, some biscuit, some faint lemon. Taste is clean - pale malts, grains, biscuit, and a light noble hop bitterness. An original that I’m glad to see back. Try bringing this to the next party rather the Spotted Cow and you will be rewarded greatly!

Purchased at a random gas station in Milwaukee, WI; enjoyed while my band played at an art space in that city, also enjoyed at home on a rainy work night. Appearance is a crisp gold with a rich and frothy white head. Aroma of light lager yeast and bready malt, smells pretty nice. Taste goes down crisp with a bready afterfinish and very subtle lemon notes. This is a fantastic pilsener, one of the best I’ve had. Well done, New Glarus!

Light golden liquid with a rich tone. A nice white lager head sits atop. A tad sweet without quite enough crispness. I can smell some fairly dry yeast, but there are some sweet fruit notes that I don’t really care for on this style. It’s certainly not a bad beer, but the sweetness needs to be toned down. There could be a bit more spicy hop bite and clean grain flavor of a good pilsener. Anyway, the malt is biscuity and pretty good. Good, clean mouthfeel to start, but it gets a tad grainy. Good beer but a bit forgettable.
