Grom is Russisch voor donder en dat is geen verkeerde naam voor dit dikke pikzwarte bier dat meer weg heeft van een orkaan op de toendra dan een zomers buitje. Dit bier is een infusie met bourbon en eiken ondergaan.

Small tan head over virtually black beer. Coffee, bit of liquorice, mocha, tobaccoashes, dark green winterleaves, sweet but dark chocolate. Very roasted, even burnt, yet sweet until the very finish. Again ashy, Alcohol is there, also in the heat, but as to Bourbon....? Titillating carbonation, very slick to viscous, well bodied. Pure black chocolate in the aftertaste. The name is more original than the taste... but why complain when it is good?

Bottle shared at Danish Ratebeer Summer Gathering 2016, Day 2. Dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, roast, overripe dark fruit, licorice and light boozy notes. Not really getting the bourbon though. Flavour is above moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Above medium bodied with a light alcoholic finish and light carbonation. [20-08-2016]

Bottle 750ml. @ The Danish (Ulfborg) Ratebeer Summer Gathering 2016, TNO(U)DRBSG16 @ fonefan & Brugmasia House. [ As Bliksem GROM Bourbon & Oak ].Clear dark brown color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, molasses, moderate chocolate, alcohol - bourbon, vanilla - bourbon notes. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, molasses, oak, dark malt, roasted, vanilla - bourbon notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20160820]

Bottled at TNOD(U)RBSG2016. Near black, beige head. Coffee and red berries up front. Mid sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Coffee, ash, red apples and notes of vanilla. Warming bitter finish.

Sampled from bottle @ Danish Ratebeer Gathering 2016, Ulfborg, Day 2. Opaque dark brown color, average sized brown head. Smell and taste malts, roast, bitter, malt bitter, earthy. Not a lot of bourbon and oak if you ask me. Meh, disappointing.
