Bouteille.

Bouteille 341ml. Couleur ambrée, mousse blanc-beige. Arôme de caramel, de sucre brun, de grains rôtis. Goût de caramel moins présent que prévu. Une bonne bière de soif.

Originally rated March 2005 (when it was named the "U2" by Unibroue). Sampled from Unibroue’s clear 341ml bottle. Pours an amber colour with a white head that dissipates fast, and has hardly any lace. Aroma is slightly on the vinegar side, but with a mild malt scent. The has a bit of bitterness, but mostly smooth. Crisp mouthfeel and dry aftertaste. Not bad, but this and its brother "U" are among Unibroue lowest quality products. This one is slightly better then the other.

Test vom 16.5.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 6,11,13,13,10,14 - 12,25

Smells of soft pumpernickel notes, some malt. Boring amber colour, boring little white head on top. Flavour is smooth and sour, perhaps a little hay. Watery mouthfeel. Unibroue, I was expecting more of you.

Pours deep gold into a shaker. Head quickly recedes to nothing. Sweet butterscotch aromas. Dry butterscotch and dark caramel from front to back.

Six pack purchased at some crappy convenience store in the Old Port section of Montreal - pours a clear, reddish copper, with a small, white lace - understated, almost bland aroma of yeast, light fruits, and flowers - the flavor is also quite yeasty and bready - this character dominates, making it hard to make out much else, aside from a light, fruity sweetness - one-dimensional to say the least - like yeasty rose water - yet, somehow a bit refreshing.

Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is big hops and some grassy malts. Flavour is sweet wood along with malts, grass and caramel.
