Bottle form Sainsburys. Pale amber with a moderate off-white head. Aroma of floral hops and sweet malt. Flavour was biscuity with peppery hops and a decent bitter finish. Good.

Bottle from Sainsbury’s. A golden amber colour with lots of white head leaving some lacing; quite highly carbonated. Quite light to drink with a malty taste, then a pleasantly bitter aftertaste leaving the palate dry. Unfortunately I didn’t have any haggis on hand to try with it - according to the back of the bottle... "Hunted in the heather covered hillsides of the highlands, these reclusive creatures traverse the hillside only in an anti-clockwise direction, due to the unequal length of their legs." - as my shotgun has a clockwise bend in the barrel I’ll never bag one of the blighters!

(500 ml bottle brought by a friend from London) Clear copper color with a medium size lasting tan head. Fresh hoppy scent, though it smells a bit watery. Malty taste with a little bit bitter twist, bitter after taste. Watery mouth feel.

Bottle from Sainsburys. Not particularly impressive but then not too bad amber colour small frothy head quite refreshing for it’s strength crisp and hoppy and lingering bitterness.

(Bottle 50 cl) Clear amber with a small, off-white head. Lightly floral and very fresh aroma hops in the nose. Rather light-bodied with distinct nutty flavours and a hoppy finish. 200106

An amber beer with a nice orange head. The aroma is sweet with notes of straw, berries, and caramel as well as a slight acidic note. The flavor is sweet with primary notes of caramel and straw, leading to a dry end.

500ml bottle from Sainsbury. Don’t know if they have changed the recipe or what, but I’m right with Magic Dave on this one. I have been so accustomed to Harviestoun’s use of US hops it was nice to have something else from them and for once a pasteurised beer was really good. Very pale copper colour with lasting white head. Earthy hop with fragrant EKG coming through. Some faint gingerish caramel. Mix of soft malts and nice citric hop with gtrapefruit and excellent dryness. Good complex hops on both the aroma and in the flavour and lasting into the finish. Lovely intense juicy rapefruit. Really impressed with the hops on this. Some dustiness too.

Clear orange-amber ale: good & dense off-white head, not very stable. Creamy nose, and at the same time fresh-hoppy smell. Very American. Some vanilla in there. WOW! this must be my hoppiest Scottish ale to date. This is great - real northern IPA. Caramelly undertones, but nowhere sweet. Light body, but I can hardly blame a 4.4% ABV beer for not being heavy - in fact, it seems more in heaviness, if not in alcohol. Aftertaste has some tobacco ash. Great bitter. I’ll have mine without the haggis corpse, thankee. Now, as to a pistacchio-stuffed leg of lamb, Moghul style, OTOH...
