A high quality helles - light but flavorful - a full malt backbone starts things out, some honey character - dries a but halfway through, allowing some toasted graininess and grassy hops to come through - a touch of sweetness returns on the tail end - clean, refreshing and tasty - go Rockies!

On draught at the brewpub, 9/30/2005. Pours a very thick looking, deep yellow-brass-golden color. Head is ample and frothy, well-retained. Clarity has somewhat of a chill haze when first served, due to how cold it is served, but becomes quite clear as it warms. Not much lacing, if any, was left behind on the glass. Smells of thick, doughy, sugary, rich malted barley and grainy pale/munic malts. Fresh herbs and grass, with light yellow fruits present in the background. Flavor comes on strong with rich honey and bitter hops, leafy, lightly floral and peppery. Thick, wonderful feeling texture. This is not some watery, overcarbonated mess of a helles. I was surprised by how substantial the malt is and how fresh the hops are. Dough, grains and honey for miles, with well-balanced and most importantly, highly apparent hops. Screams of quality brewing. Just wish I could get a little more yeastiness from it.

Bright golden colour. Slightly crisp hop note but mainly fresh bready malts. Full malt character with a light fruitiness that thankfully doesn’t detract too much from the expressive malts.

(draught from lagertank) Very pale yellow, huge white head. Slightly smoked nose, slightly citrussy. Slight corn taste. There is just a tad of hops retronasal. Light bodied, but the corn (?) seems to fill it up a bit. Good light beer, but tasted at very low temp.
