When our friends from Stone Brewing Co in San Diego came visit of course we had to brew together! With the pioneers of the West Coast IPA style, we thought we'd brew our favourite Supersonic but ramp it up with US hops to create this West Coast style DIPA. For this edition of Supersonic we've added Loral and Citra with a good dose of Aussieiness with hops and of course our signature native finger limes. The hops combine to give citrus fruit aromas, and are well supported with the malty backbone combining to make this a hoppy but balanced DIPA. What better way to celebrate our friends from San Diego than paying some respect to 'top guns' Maverick and Goose.

(Can) Pours cloudy Amber with good dense head. Nice aroma of citrus. Excellent palate - smooth medium body with lovely carbonation - soft and bright. Great taste too. Complex. Balanced. There’s a caramel malt sweetness that carries very well the tangy fruit and the hoppy bitterness. The fruit starts off with nice tangy hop notes but then a distinct note of ginger lime appears. There’s plenty of nice hoppy bitterness that develops through the palate and hangs around a long time. Excellent beer.

Blik gedeelt door Benzai. Het is een oranje achtig bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een hoppige geur. De smaak is hoppig, harsig en citrus achtig.

Draft. A hazy golden beer with a lazing white head. The aroma has notes of hops, over ripe fruits, malt, pine needles, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of exotic fruits, hops, spices, pine needles, and malt, leading to a bitter finish.

Can at home, thanks to James, 09/03/19. Hazed golden amber with a decent light beige cap. Nose is bitter orange, caramel, sweet malts, grapefruit. Taste comprises bitter sweet tropical fruits, cantaloupe melon, light pine, grapefruit, pithy citrics, toasted malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with balanced hop bitterness. Ok easy drinking DIPA if somewhat struggling to make the jump to 4th gear.

Can from Hogs Back Brewery shop. Citrus and resin aroma. Hazy/murky dark orange. Frothy translucent white head. Sweet and sugary citrus with a low key bitterness/sourness. There's a hint of the booze but it's discreet. Medium bodied. Slick with a sticky touch. Average-fizzy carbonation. Relatively abrupt finish. Good stuff.

Can. Hazy amber beer, decent cream colour head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Light smooth malts, a very light creamy sweetness. Pine. Lime and a little lime peel, just a modest accompanying bitterness. On the back end - some emerging sweetish tropical fruits. Light finish. Nice. The fingerlimes dominate but don't overwhelm.
