750ml bottle. Thanks to Vastactiv. Tasting at Ardes. Lots of chocolate, vanilla, warmth and coffee in aroma and flavor. Long finish. Pretty damn awesome. Complex. Bourbon in perfect balance.

(Bottle, 0.75 l, thanks VastActiv, at Arde, 20210123) The beer poured oily and black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts and dark chocolate. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, vineousness, dark chocolate, vanilla, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt, woody and bitter. A delicious burnt brew.

750ml bottle. Sweet, roasty and heavy with some coffee, toffee, bourbon, vanilla and syrup. Heavy and intense.

750 ml bottle from the Catador Club. Aroma is a rich chocolate, mellow vanilla, hint of coffee. Flavor is bold fudge, vanilla, hints is bitter coffee. Alcohol is only noticed after the sip. Initially for the gravity it’s not nearly as strong as it really is.

Bottle (2018 vintage) pour--thanks Chris and CJ! Appearance is opaque black with no discernible sparkle, ~ finger-width light brown foamy head with decent retention and no lacing. Aroma is extremely rich cocoa/baker's chocolate (as it warms), vanilla, bourbon barrel and mild coffee. Taste is strong chocolate/fudge, vanilla and bourbon barrel with milder late coffee roast and faint bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium-to-full bodied, thick texture, soft carbonation, late great alcohol warmth, and finish as taste. Overall, even after two years (because of two years?) this is fantastic. Subtle changes as it warms and nice nuances if you are ready to appreciate it. Incredibly well balanced and delicious.

Power tasting at Salesforce
Pitch black colour. Wonderful aroma of vanilla and chocolate. Sweet, rich, with strong chocolate flavour, some bourbon, and mild roasty character, maybe also from the coffee; quite strong alcohol.
Wonderful.

Jet black with a small brown head. Fudge, dark chocolate, cocoa and some nutty notes. Dark and fudgy with light minty vanilla notes and barrel. Nice, but no coffee.

750ml (thx, John L.!) at Sales Force. Appearance: almost black with a beige head. Aroma: roasted malts, bourbon, some chocolate. Taste: along the same lines, chocolate, bourbon, some vanilla and booze. Slight peppery notes on the back coming from coffee. Overall: good one.

750mL bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma is divine, with intense bourbon barrels upfront, followed by vanilla and chocolate, and a subtle hint of coffee. Flavour is unbelievably decadent, with complex bourbon barrels, vanilla, and chocolate. There are some layers of dark fruits in there. Complex and layered. What an elegant beer.
