Tapped into a 2013 version of this Ontario BW. The nose is soft toffee and that is also the dominant element of the taste profile. The toffee element is delicious, with some balance from bready malt and some hop presence. The texture is a bit thin for a 11.5% barleywine and I would love to get a little more punch from the malt to set off the sweetness.

0.5l ceramic bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. It's almost cloudy in the glass, but will call it blurry. The color is dark plum red and it has a small islandy and sidesticking off-white head. Really nice aroma with a raisin sweetness, lots of red sweet fruits, feels deep almost salty in a way with a strong almost fudge like caramel sweetness. It smells really good this. Soft really prickling carbonation level with a soft sticky mouthfeel. Really nutty bitter flavors. Old buttery caramel, some alcohol, roses and some oxidization. Almost peppery spices also, but it could be the alcohol. Decent flavors, but a lovely aroma. 31.03.2013

2008 ceramic bottle thanks to CaptainCougar. Poured a slightly hazy brown color without much of a head. Aroma is sweet malt notes. Flavor is some toffee, caramel, touch of booze. Not bad.
