330 ml bottle. Clear reddish golden body with a big off-white head. Aroma has sweetish malt, caramel and dry fruit. Flavor is sweet malt, some caramel, dry fruit, hint of honey, slightly harsh bitterness and mild, warming alcohol. Fine body and decent aftertaste. OK, but a bit too much on the sweet side for my taste.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours hazy amber, massive, ever-expanding white head. Over-carbonated much? Aromas of brown bread, prunes. Taste is slightly hot, apple-y, almonds too. Cloying sweet finish.

Strongest Reinaert, since 1996, best characterized as a Belgian-style barley wine. Rocky, very dense, thick creamy, yellowish white head, nicely lacing, colour deep misty bronze. Malt sweet aroma, very yeasty, cherries, figs, pear, chocolate, vanilla, brandy, candi sugar. Taste starts fruity and estery with metallic note and woody and nutty maltiness, light spiciness in the finish, dry and bitterish with a meaty accent. Not bad, not great.
