Stingy Jack is our Spiced Pumpkin Ale, perfect for these Autumnal nights closing in and the coming of Halloween and Thanksgiving. We used a load of spices at the end of the boil as well as roast pumpkins glazed in maple syrup.

The label is designed by our Art Director Nick Dwyer and shows a drunk old Stingy leaning up a wall outside his local pub with the Devil hanging off his back.

Stingy Jack is now out in 330ml bottle and 30 litre kegs.

On tap at Brewdog Bristol March 2015. Pours light hazed reddish amber with a beige head. Aroma: dried fruits, mixed spices, yeast, caramel. Taste: light to moderate sweet & light bitter, pumpkin, cinnamon, nuts. Medium body, frothy carb, light spicy finish. Decent for a pumpkin beer, not too much pumpkin taste!

Many thanks to Thirstybird for sharing! Nice pumpkin fruity nose. The beer starts fruity, lots of pumpkin there, fresh and fruity, smooth. The spices are very nice and fruity, the beer ends not too sweet, slightly sticky intense, round an great. Probably a bit too high in ABV, but good though.

330ml can. Pours a hazy amber colour with a small beige head. Aroma: pumpkin, ginger, nutmeg, yeast, malt. Taste: like the aroma, spicy pumpkin flavour, the ginger and nutmeg stand out here, fruity, malt base. Medium body, soft carbonation, oily texture. Nice but not something I’d normally go for, only drinking this because it’s halloween to be perfectly honest.

Can from Wine Rack at Yarnton Nurseries, Yarnton, Oxon. Consumed down the village hall at Shocktober Fest 29th October 2016 Pours hazy amber with an off-white head, yes it’s quite murky. Spicy in the mouth with a steady sweetness, I think cinnamon and nutmeg are the key spices here with a little sweet, slightly earthy pumpkin. Good but one is enough. A6 A3 T7 P3 Ov13 3.2

0.33l can from the previously called BottleDog. It looks quite nice this. It has a cloudy amber ish, almost a little rusty looking body. On the top there's a medium sized off-white head. Not much lacework really. It smells just like you'd expect it to. Spicy nutmeg, lots of toasted pumpkin. Pepper, cinnamon and allspice. Just a good old spice bomb on the aroma, that's for sure. It's also well uo-spiced in the taste. More pumpkin than the Oh So well known spices. It's mild oily in the mouth and it's just about average on the carbonation. Ginger and lots of pepper. It's not heat spiced, but still there's a lot of peppery tones here. Some allspice in the finish along with a nice malty sweetness. As long as it's not too large quantities this is actually surprisingly lightdrinkable. Not bad tasting either. 28.10.2016
