Pours a cloudy rusty brown with an inch of foam. Tilting my glass from side to side reveals lots of nice lacing.
Big caramel malt in the nose. There must be some oxidation as I also perceive a butterscotch note or two.
Caramel malt up front in the taste. Oxidation? Yep. Not at an extreme stage so enough aboot that. Hints of dark fruit with each sip. Warming but not hot as a properly brewed Barleywine should be.
Body borders on full.
Smells, tastes and feels like a Barleywine brewed in the UK. Mission accomplished by this Italian brewery.

Hazy amber - brown beer, good off white head. Slightly soft and slightly syrupy palate, semi dry. Tinned fruits and syrup - peach, mango, apricot and orange, all very well joined up. Mild minerals and a trace of licorice. Finishes semi dry with mild prickly carbonation. Unusual sweet beer.
