This bitter blonde is a neutral yet firm, structured beer. The use of Tettnang hops gives this hoppy, bitter brew a light citrus taste in the finish.

Pale golden pour, semi-hazy with a white head that gives way to a very thin lacing. Smells like boiled corn and caramel. The taste is sweet, with notes of caramel, citrus and malt. Not too good.

0.33 l bottle from local AH, best before July 2016. Clear, golden yellow with a medium large, foamy, slowly diminishing, white head. Grassy, slightly citrusy aroma of hay, grains and hints of lemon. Slightly bitter, grassy taste of hay, grains and hints of lemon, followed by a slightly bitter, grassy-hoppy finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Very classical approach to this style, not really interesting or tasty, just drinkable and refreshing. Okay.

Thanks for sharing! Sampled draft @ De Prael during Carnivale Brettanomyces #4. Sampled as “Bitter”. Hazy orange, quite hazy, small white head. Nose is boring, sugar, malt, yeast, no complexity,… Taste is dull plaster, BE-like, big yeast, more sugar, dull sugary orange,… Yeasty, bland, overly yeasty & sugar etc. Didn’t pick this one for a Kölsch, tasted quite Belgian for me in a bad way.

Pours hazy light golden. Head is frothy and white. Low aromas of vanilla, lemon zest, porridge. Creamy, nicely metallic. Not really bitter or long-lingering, but nice.

Clear deep golden colour, average foamy white head, good retention and lacing. Grassy and floral sweet malty aroma, grass, floral, lemon, soap. Taste medium sweet and medium bitter, floral and earthy notes. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation, lingering medium bitter aftertaste, earthy notes, not a Kölsch imho but a nice beer anyway.

Bottle from The Bulldog. Clear amber body with a thin off-white head. Low carbonation. Nice lacing. Aroma of copper, bread and brown sugar. Flavour of earthy hops, bread and figs. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. Bland but drinkable.
