Tap at the Scrapyard, Alkmaar. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a round tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, caramel, dry oaky, red berry fruits, boozy alcohol. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, rich, oily, fruity, boozy, dry oaky, boozy alcohol palate. Full bodied with flat carbonation.

Tap @ Molenbar. Almost black. Chocolate, roasty ginger and a hint of licorice in the aroma and flavor. ~Full bodied, slightly alcoholic. Nice.

Draught at De Molen. I was a little scared at first when I saw Imperial stout with ginger, cinnamon, honey, and lactose but that was absolutely uncalled for in this case. The beer definitely has all these ingredients and you can taste em but it is very well balanced so even though I dislike ginger, cinnamon, honey and lactose in my beer, this beer is the one exception it seems. Full, thick, very flavorful and balanced. Very good.

Keg @ Nightjar, Hebden Bridge. Black with a small light-brown head. Its roasted malts have a sticky sweet taste, and texture too. Its strength does impact on the ale, but not as much as you expect in terms of flavour.

Keg at MS HW, 22/08/18. Pitch black with a decent tan covering that soon dissipates to edgework. Nose is dark chocolate, honeycomb, light menthol notes, dark malts, herb, molasses, booze tunes. Taste comprises dark fruit rinds, bitter sweet tang, dark malts, chocolate, light herb, spice, molasses, trace of liquorice, boozey twang, crystallised ginger. Full bodied, oily viscous feel, warming alcohol in the close. Decent enough impy stout ... herbal notes give balance and no runaway sweetness although you do get the 12%!
