Thuis uit een ongewoon bierflesje. Donkerbruin, lichtbruin schuim. Caramel in geur en smaak. Eerste slok is wennen, typische smaak. Daarna redelijk rond, niet onaardig.

0.33 l bottle from 'Sterk Avondverkoop', best before January 2020. Clear, very dark ruby to black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, dried fruits and some nuts. Quite sweet, malty, slightly fruity and a bit roasty taste of caramel, toasted nuts, dried fruits, some licorice and a touch of coffee, followed by a short, moderately roasty-bitter, slightly earthy-dry finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Not as bad as expected by any means, even it is closer to a Doppelbock than a Stout.

Bottle purchased in downtown Colon, Panama. Pours a very dark brown/black color with dark ruby highlights and a firm beige head with good retention. Spotty lacing. Bakers chocolate nose. The taste is a mix of molasses and bitter dark chocolate. Medium body. Low carbonation. Not bad for a foreign stout but nothing I would seek out. The 7.2 ABV is well hidden.

Bottle at home. Bought at a Surinamese shop, being told it was Surinamese. Didn't check. Shopkeeper said to drink as cold as possible because it's fucking horrible (and laughed). Dark brown with off white head. Dark roasted malts, cocoa, bad coffee breath, cane sugar, rum chocolates. Light sweet and moderate bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation. Something sharp in there, probably alcohol.

Modest off-white head and a coppery brown body with some transparency, leaning on the daahk side, a tiny bit of carbonation. Soft dark rye bread aroma, the fake stuff, leaning towards take pumpernickel. Flavour is heavy molasses, chocolate and cherry, pushing almost to the point of being too cloying and then pulling back a little. Medium finish, kind of dry actually. Despite being a potential oozing malt bomb this one is surprisingly in control of itself and drinkable.

Not really good but drinkable stout. Flavour better than the really weird aroma. Big malt character, sweet. Meh, prefer it to a big industrial lager, but far from good.

Bottle from slijterijhetfust.nl. Pours very dark brown with a quite large but short lasting bubbly beige head. Aroma of malt, prune, chocolate and liquorice, also a bit salty. Quite heavy sweetness, little by way of bitterness. Full body, sticky/thick texture, average carbonation. Finish of malty milk chocolate.
